Breaking: Raul Fernandez has won the 2026 British MotoGP at Silverstone after producing a dominant performance in Sunday’s race.
The Trackhouse Racing rider started second on the grid and quickly established himself at the front after recovering from a crash in Saturday’s sprint.
Championship leader Jorge Martin, who started from pole and won the sprint, had a difficult opening when his ride-height device malfunctioned at Turn One.
Despite the problem, Martin recovered to finish second.
Marco Bezzecchi completed the podium after Alex Marquez made a late mistake.
Fernandez takes control
Fernandez’s performance was one of the strongest of his season.
Rather than allowing Saturday’s crash to affect his confidence, he responded by controlling Sunday’s race from the front.
The victory gives Trackhouse Racing a major result at one of MotoGP’s most famous circuits.
Martin protects championship lead
Although Martin missed out on another victory, second place allowed him to limit the damage in the championship battle.
His rival weekend began perfectly with pole position and a sprint victory, but Sunday proved more difficult.
The result keeps the championship fight alive while giving Fernandez a major boost.
Defending world champion Marc Marquez finished seventh after starting sixth.
